Hello all! This last weekend I was able to go to a wellness retreat not only for my own wellbeing but to pick up some additional tools to share with my clients and you all! As well as bring you some photography of the landscapes!
One of the most valuable takeaways for me was the importance of movement in working through out struggles. Movement can help bring joy, help us release anxiety and anger and show comfort to our sadness. Finding movement in your day to day life is essential for wellness.
I spent a lot of time engaging in mindful photography, although it was a little cold it was amazing to get outside and bring my focus and awareness to the nature around me. I’m working on incorporating more photography in therapy as well!
Lastly, we worked on our goals, values and strengths as people. Too often we get wrapped up in what our weaknesses are. While it is important to grow, it is also important to honor where we are and be proud of what we bring into a room. This provides balance in the healing process. One of my favorite quotes is “You are allowed to be a masterpiece and work in progress at the same time”.
I hope you all are able to find a little more balance within yourselves, and discover more of what your strengths are and how you can use them to continue to help you grow and heal.
