Grief Therapy
Grief and loss can be one of the most confusing experiences.
Feelings from grief and loss aren’t concrete.
Healing from it isn’t linear, and many people can’t hold space for us, leading to the feeling of being deeply isolated. Grief can make you feel like you’re standing in the middle of a storm with no way out. You can’t see ahead, you can’t move, and you’re stuck. Grief therapy will support you, helping you rediscover yourself.
Working With Your Grief Therapist
Grief work requires that you are with a therapist who doesn’t need to make meaning out of your grief right away. They can just sit with you in the feelings of hopelessness. We begin by sitting with you in the storm, so you aren’t alone. As we sit with you, you start to be able to stand and take steps forward. It doesn’t mean the storm won’t come and go but it won’t be as paralyzing.
Grief also has complexities. It is not as simple as someone has died and now I must grieve them. Grief can be ambiguous, hidden, or unclear. It can stem from the loss of a job, a pregnancy, death by suicide, adoption, a childhood that should have been, and the support you should have received. There are so many layers and complexities to grief that we can support you with.
Our goal is to help you to reignite the power and strength to move forward so that you can live more fully and joyfully through both good and difficult times, and rediscover, celebrate, and be within your own light and share it with the world.
